Manga title: Gantz

Synopsis:

Kei Kurono, a college student in the middle of job hunting, runs into his childhood friend, Masaru Kato, on a subway platform. In a moment of bravery, they jump onto the tracks to save a drunken man who fell over—only to be brutally hit by an oncoming train.

They should have died.

Instead, they wake up unharmed in an unfurnished apartment in Tokyo. The only things in the room are other people who "should have died" and a mysterious black sphere sitting in the center known as "GANTZ."

Before they can process what is happening, the sphere issues a chilling command:

"Please go kill the Onion Alien."

Equipped with mysterious black suits that grant superhuman strength and high-tech weaponry, they are teleported out of the room. Waiting for them is a kill-or-be-killed battle against bizarre and grotesque "aliens."

The rules are simple: Defeat the aliens and earn points. If you reach 100 points, you might just be granted freedom from this living hell.

As their reality crumbles into a mix of madness and desire, Kei and the others must pull the trigger to survive. Is this a game? Or is it a nightmare?
